VERSE 1
When we walk with the Lord
In the light of his Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
CHORUS
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus
But to trust and obey.
VERSE 2
Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But his smile quickly drives it away,-
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey.
VERSE 3
Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil he doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.
VERSE 4
But we never can prove
The delights of his love
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favor he shows,
And the joy be bestows
Are for all who will trust and obey.
VERSE 5
Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at his feet,
Or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
What He says we will do,
Where He Sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
VERSE 1
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride.
VERSE 2
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ, my Lord;
All the vain things that charm me most
I sacrifice them to His blood.
VERSE 3
See, from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down;
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?
VERSE 4
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
Verse 1
God never moves
without purpose or plan
When trying His servant
and molding a man.
Give thanks to the LORD though
your testing seems long;
In darkness He giveth a song.
Verse 2
I could not see through
the shadows ahead;
So I looked at the cross
of my Savior instead.
I bowed to the will
of the Master that day;
Then peace came
and tears fled away.
Verse 3
Now I can see testing
comes from above;
God strengthens His
children and purges in love.
My Father knows best,
and I trust in His care;
Through purging
more fruit I will bear.
Chorus
O Rejoice in the LORD
He makes no mistake,
He knoweth the end
of each path that I take,
For when I am tried And purified,
I shall come forth as gold.
