Immanuel Covid-19 Precautions and Plans

Immanuel Covid-19 Precautions and Plans

Immanuel family and friends in response to the information concerning the Covid-19 virus, we have made the following plans and preparations to preserve the health of those we love and provide continuity of worship.

  • Sunday worship at 11 AM and 6 PM will continue
    • Seniors, those with weakened immune systems, and those who feel unsure are encouraged to stay home and watch and give online
    • There will be no 10 AM Sunday School
    • There will be no staffed infant nursery to prevent the congregation of people in small space
    • We are constructing a “no-touch” service, which includes doors propped open, no passing of offering plate, no handshaking, etc.
  • Immanuel Baptist School
    • IBS is a privately funded non-governmental school. We will voluntarily suspend school for three weeks in conjunction with public schools. School will resume April 6, 2020.

I am asking that each one of you be cautious, courteous, and courageous during this unprecedented time in our generation. However, believers in Jesus Christ of every generation have by faith navigated events such as these. Faced with similar uncertainty, Moses told Joshua, “… Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9)

Be Cautious

  • If visiting public spaces like malls, events, and worships services is unwise considering your health, please exercise the liberty to stay home.
  • If you feel like you may be coming down with something, please stay home.
  • If you have been in contact with someone that could be infected with the virus, please stay home.

Be Courteous

  • Be considerate of others during these times by not being “cavalier” concerning the virus.
  • Practice cleanliness by washing your hands and utilizing hand sanitizer
  • Refrain from touching others at church, including hugging and shaking hands.

Be Courageous

  • Reject fear by embracing God’s spirit of power, love and a sound mind
  • Be proactive in faith not reactive in fear
  • Love one another

Please communicate to us needs that may arise in the church family so that we can be a help.

I love you; God loves you!

Worshipping Christ,

Pastor Jason Georges
